Care-Centred Consultancy
Tailored support that meets you exactly where you are.
Is your workplace care-centred?
Taking Good Care is a trauma-informed service that works explicitly with the care and relational sectors. We have a deep commitment to the health and wellbeing of those who help, care for, and support the wellbeing of others.
We provide learning, training, and consultancy focused on protecting the wellbeing of relational workers, and strengthening the conditions for care work.
We specialise in care-centred systems design, psychosocial safety education, and trauma-informed training.
You can read more about our approach in our article on Care-Centred Workplaces.
We can help you to:
Identify and manage the specific pressures of care and community sector work, including chronic stress, secondary stress, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma.
Strengthen the capacity of your leaders and teams to sustain care and relational work without absorbing the costs personally.
Co-create supportive, care-centred workshops, experiences, and trainings for your team - especially when they are in need of respite.
Support your team to move towards a longer-term culture of care, with practical tools and shared strategies.
Our approach:
We collaborate with our clients and partners, tailoring learning, training and consultancy to meet your needs. This means that we may schedule co-design sessions with you before a training, or midway through a project.
Acknowledging that true systems change is about mindsets as opposed to policy, we focus on creating deeply engaging and transformative experiences for your team and service. We are committed to change that truly improves the wellbeing of care and relational workers.
Everything that we do is trauma-informed and mental health aware by design. Whether we are designing a strategy, building a program, or delivering a training - you can expect this as a baseline.
Our approach is also feminist and gender-affirming. Between 75 - 85% of workers in the care and relational sectors identify as women - a feminist approach is vital to the psychosocial safety of care-centred workplaces.
