Our approach
Relational work asks a lot, and always has. But many practitioners are navigating increasingly high levels of stress, creating long-term risks for both their individual health and the broader sectors they contribute to.
We understand that stress is not a personal failing: it’s a signal, from our nervous systems and our bodies, that something needs to change.
Taking Good Care offers tools, frameworks, and community for restoration and regulation, and more sustainable ways of working - even in complex and high-stress settings.
Alongside our Programs, we also work directly with organisations to strengthen their health and wellbeing systems.

We use the term ‘practitioner’ to define any relational or care sector workers, including healthcare, education, mental health, disability, community services, social work, and other care-sector roles.
If you work in a role that is relational or care-oriented, you are welcome to join any offering that is for ‘practitioners’.
-
Relational work involves sustained care, emotional labour, and responsibility for the wellbeing of others. This includes healthcare, education, mental health, disability, community services, social work, and other care-sector roles where people regularly work with stress, distress, trauma, and human complexity.
These professions are essential — but often emotionally demanding. Taking Good Care exists to support more sustainable ways of caring and working for peoples, teams and organisations.
