COURSE - RECOVER
Learn tools, strategies and practices for chronic stress and burnout recovery.
Recover is a trauma-informed and compassionate program for people at risk of, or currently experiencing chronic stress.
Recover runs twice a year, in May and October.
WHO’S IT FOR
When stress becomes chronic, our lives are affected in multiple and complex ways.
Designed to be a supportive space for learning, restorative practice, and community, Recover is open to anyone experiencing depletion or stress.
Anchored in compassionate and politicised practice, Recover acknowledges the systemic and structural conditions that cause work and care-related stress, and does not individualise or blame practitioners for their experiences.
By coming together as a small community, this program also aims to normalise experiences of stress, whilst problematising the systems that create isolation, hyper-independence, and the chronic health conditions associated with stress.
Acknowledging that stress recovery can be a long road, in this program we share practices, tools, and techniques that can be adapted for your unique context, needs, and desires - at your own pace.
SIX SESSIONS
What we cover
How stress, systemic pressures and the body interact over time, with a gentle self-assessment and an overview of recovery timelines.
The stress response system, ways to interrupt it, and regulation tools adaptable to different bodies and circumstances.
Allostatic load, the relaxation response, moving from stress to rest, and somatic recovery practices.
Morning and evening practices, prioritising rest, and evidence-based approaches to deep rest.
The psychology of behaviour change, pacing and tracking, and making personal commitments.
Self-advocacy in personal and professional settings, communication frameworks, and a wrap-up with ongoing support resources.
Six weekly evening sessions, delivered live online via Zoom in a small group format.
HOW IT WORKS
Sessions run for 1.5 hours and combine information with embodied and reflective practice.
Live attendance is encouraged, but because chronic stress can affect capacity, all sessions are recorded and shared within 48 hours.
Access to a learning platform with recordings, PDF practice guides and extra resources.
There is no homework or group work.
